Also a kind of pudding...a delicious pudding

This journal went friends only on the 17th of March 2007. Most entries are locked except for my graphic posts and some random posts.
But this doesn't mean I'm not looking for new friends. If you want to be added or add me, just leave a comment here about yourself and why you want to friend me, if we share some fandoms or if we seem to have some stuff in common, I will more than likely friend you back.
Check my profile to learn more about me, future friend and see you soon!

My 2008 scrapbook!

Think about the year that has passed. All the memories, the entries and posts that made the year special. Think about all your past layouts, default icons, mood themes. How about all those conversations you had via comments, or the huge post in ONTD that you spent all night commenting on. The 2008 Scrapbook Post is a way to help you remember all of that, in a single post.
I felt that the big book/movie/tv/event post wasn't enough for this year and then [info]telltale had a brilliant idea and I'm following it. Join [info]2008_scrapbook!!

We saved the world. I say we party.

If you could be cast on any TV show, from any time, who would you play?

If I could be cast on any tv show, I'd be playing a villain on Doctor Who. I'd be a disgusting looking alien, coming from a planet far away from Earth where the traditional beverage is alcohol made from human brains so I'd try to invade Earth to become rich and rule the economy of my home planet. But the Doctor wouldn't let me kill all the amazing human beings and I'd try to take Donna's brain because it'dseem so tasty. After managing to save her from beheading thanks to his sonic screwdriver, the Doctor would beg me to redeem myself because he'd know there's a nice and friendly alien behind the squishy face. I'd say I'm sorry and oh god I had no idea humans were so great and every life is sacred but actually I'd be plotting a dark revenge and I'd try to kill the Doctor using one my tentacle and a tv but Donna would save his ass using only a hair dryer because she's awesome like that. I'd die screaming "damn you doctooooooooooooor" and the news of my death would create a great terror on my planet and my fellow aliens would promise never to drink alcohol made from human brains because it really isn't worth it and the hangovers are horrible anyway.

Can't you tell I'm exhausted? xD
My day was pretty intense, I had yet another oral. A french one this time, about the role of Astronomy and stars in the book "The Leopard" by Lampedusa. I had to talk for 45 minutes in front of people who didn't really care about what I was saying and obviously didn't understand everything I said about a man trying to escape a trivial world and a decadent aristocracy for an abstract and ethereal world governed by ideas and ruled by Venus who is in fact Death. Did I even understand it myself?

By the way, I watched the season finale of House yesterday. It was great! Pretty intense and very sad :( I wish the fourth season had been more like this instead of being a sort of pompous and annoying succession of uninteresting and uneventful episodes.

Hope you had a great day guys. And look! I've got a Spike icon, how cool is that? :D

Paris and memes.
1. So I went to Paris yesterday and it rained for half the time I was there... I bought some books half the price that I usually have to pay here (yay Gilbert Jeune and your second hand books!). Then we went to an amazing exhibition at the Louvre about Babylon and we had a walk in Paris. And in the Tuileries Garden we totally ran into Edouard Bear aka one of the few french actor that I like, didn't recognize him since he was walking alone and nobody was looking at him but my mother confirmed that it was him. How awesome is that? :)

2. Top 5 me! Books, art, culture, music, fandom stuff, movies, television, pictures you want me to take, ANYTHING. Ask as many as you'd like. Be vague. Be specific. I don't care if it's mundane or off the wall, although the latter might be more fun.

Top 5 favourite words. )

Five places (in terms of history and time) you would love to visit. )

What do you love about where you live?

Where I live (Northen France) is currently extremely well-known and appreciated thanks to (because of?) the french movie Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis and it's actually quite hilarious to see the rest of France discovering (even if the movie is full of clichés) the area I live in. And it's a great area really, you're not far from anything, 2 hours away from Paris, 2 hours away from Belgium, the Channel tunnel must be 2 hours away too. And even if the weather is shit, most people here are great. But when they're not great, they're really awful xD

Friends Cut
I did a friends-cut. First one in a long time I think.
I mostly removed what I think are dead journals, that is to say not updated in more than a month or even more. If I removed you but that your journal is actually on hiatus or if you moved, please tell so and I'll be very glad to add you back.

If your journal is updated but I still removed you, I'm sorry but I don't think we have much in common anymore. Nothing personal, we just didn't connect or maybe we're not as close as we used to be.

I'll be very glad if you removed me back please :)

Football!
France vs England in a few minutes.
Go, France, go! :D

A little thought for Thierry Gilardi, his voice annoyed me greatly but it's really sad to die at 49 years old...

EDIT: Yeah! We won :D 1-0, it wasn't a great match though...

Stuff I can't believe in :)
1. One of my holiday photos that I had uploaded on Flickr a while ago was noticed and will maybe be in Schmap. I had no idea this website existed ten minutes ago but I'm ridiculously proud of myself. It may not be taken but I'd be very glad to see a photo that I took on an online guide. Moreover, it's a photo of a place that it's not very well-known among foreign tourists (meaning I didn't see any when I went there) so it's cool.
It's this photo by the way, in a veryyy old (I'm talking pre-Roman) town in Southern France.

2. It's been snowing for two days! I can't believe it! I haven't see real snow for three years and now it's snowing in late March. And you're telling me the Earth isn't screwed up?
It's kinda cool though, I love snow :)

You won't see me friday!
ONE DAY CONTENT STRIKE: Friday, March 21, from midnight to midnight GMT.

For one day, make no posts. Make no comments. Let there be NO new content added to LJ.

SUP obviously does not realize that Basic users have given something of value to them, that it is content that drives the site.

So, for one 24-hour period, from midnight GMT to midnight GMT, let's see how many people we can get to pledge to contribute NO CONTENT.

This will create a permanent downward spike in the daily-posts statistics, a permanent reminder of the power of the userbase.

We are holding the Content Strike because we want to demonstrate that LiveJournal is content-driven.

We are holding the Content Strike because we want the new owners of LiveJournal to better understand the power and resolve of the LJ Community of Users.

We are holding the Content Strike because all of us, Paid, Permanent and Plus users as well as Basic, want to demonstrate our solidarity as a Community of Users. We do not consider Basic users to be freeloaders, we consider them to be valuable content-providers and Friends.

We are holding the Content Strike because we ache to do something to show our displeasure, and commenting on the [info]news post -- even with cat macros -- just isn't powerful enough!

For more information about the strike check out the journal of [info]beckyzoole.
